'Inspirational messages to refresh the spirit and boost the emotional bank account'
Advice comes in all shapes and sizes. For instance, someone gave the sage advice - 'If you dance with a grizzly bear, you had better let him lead.' No argument here.
Or this, found in a fortune cookie 'You are a poor, pathetic, gullible fool who seeks advice from bakery products.'
Conrad Hilton, hotelier extraordinaire, was asked on national television if he had one vital bit of advice for the viewers. 'Please,' he said, 'place the curtain on the inside of the bath tub when you shower.'
It's been accurately said that there is a lot of advice available for nothing, and most of it is worth about what we paid for it. But here is sound guidance, from an unknown author, worth taking to heart.
Even some free advice can occasionally be of profit and those who listen will learn.
Just recently I flew from Sydney to Melbourne for an early morning meeting followed by a series of additional meetings, all in the same office. We are deeply saddened to learn this week of the death of one of our most valued supporters - Someone Else
Someone Else's passing creates a vacancy that will be difficult to fill. Someone Else has been with us for many years and for every one of those years, did far more than most.
It was common knowledge that Someone Else was among the most willing and generous givers in our global community. Whenever there was a financial need, everyone just assumed Someone Else would make up the difference.
Someone Else was a remarkable person, sometimes appearing almost angelic. Were the truth known, however, everybody expected too much of Someone Else.
Now Someone Else is gone! What we are going to do? Someone Else left a truly wonderful example to follow, but who is going to follow it? Who is going to do the things Someone Else did?
So when you are asked to help out a little, remember - we can't depend on Someone Else anymore.
You can't always change your situation, but you can always change your attitude
